Hello, I'm Maria Barrera. In this section I'll briefly talk about my human-professional path and the emergence of Holistic Humana.

My interest in human behavior was born from a vital need: to understand the origins of the antisocial and criminogenic behaviors I witnessed daily. From a very early age, I felt the urge to go beyond judgment or statistics; I wanted to understand what lies behind the suffering, violence, and dehumanization that plague our societies.

A path that becomes a vision

My path began in Criminology and expanded into Human Rights, Victimology, and Integral Conflict Mediation. However, it was during a Master's degree in Integrative Research—with an emphasis on complex thinking, social sciences, and humanities—that everything was reorganized. I stopped seeing the human being as a fragmented phenomenon and began to understand it as an integral system, shaped by its history, beliefs, experiences, environment, and consciousness. The academic became experiential. The technical transformed into alchemy. And from that transformation emerged a new way of seeing, experiencing, and addressing human conflict.

This is how Human Holistics was born

From this deep integration of experience, knowledge, and purpose , Human Holistics is born: a body of living, introspective, and transformative knowledge, with roots in criminology, interdisciplinarity, philosophy, empiricism, and expansion toward a total understanding of the self.

Within it, Holistic Criminology emerges , a unique approach that addresses criminogenic behavior from a systemic, conscious, and profoundly human perspective. Today, my work is dedicated to building bridges between knowledge and being, between shadow and light, in the service of awakening, integration, and the evolution of our humanity.
